H&M设计奖是针对全球特定设计学院的学生举办的一项竞赛。目的是培养最有前途的时尚人才,并为他们的职业生涯提供跳板。

获奖者将获得25,000欧元的奖金以及斯德哥尔摩H&M总部的带薪实习机会。

此外,所有入围者,包括获胜者,将获得5,000欧元(约5,660美元)的奖金,以进入决赛。

H&M Design Award 2020 

About 

The H&M Design Award is an annual design prize for graduating students. The prize, which underlines H&M’s strong commitment to the future of fashion, was established in 2012 to support young designers’ as they begin their careers in fashion. The H&M Design Award 2020 is open for 2019 BA or MA graduating students from selected fashion design schools. Students are welcome to participate by submitting their portfolios.

The winner will be awarded a prize of €25,000 as well as a paid internship at H&M’s Head Office in Stockholm, working alongside the design team that develops our most fashion-forward collections. The paid internship includes a monthly salary, accommodation in Stockholm, as well as other benefits. In addition all finalists, except the winner, will be awarded €5,000 each for making it to the final.

The final will be held at the end of November or the beginning of December 2019.

H&M is always looking out for new talent from the world’s major design colleges. That’s why we’ve created the H&M Design Award, to support and celebrate the work of graduating designers.


Before you apply, please note:

– You must graduate from a 2019 BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent to these) from a participating college. Find all schools participating in the award here.

– Your graduate collection should be based on garments, with at least four complete outfits per entry (sorry, no entries that are just print or accessories). The collection can focus on womenswear, menswear or a mixed application.

- Your application should constist of your CV and graduating portfolio.

- The maximum size of your attachements is limited to 10MB in total. The best way to make it less heavy is to save it as a PDF file smallest size and submit it as one document.

– The H&M Design Award is held in English and it is very important that you are able to speak and understand this language.

Why has H&M established the H&M Design Award?


As a design-driven company with a great love for fashion, we created the H&M Design Award in 2012 to support young designers’ as they begin their careers in fashion.


What does the winner of the H&M Design Award 2020 receive?


The winner of the H&M Design Award 2020 will receive a prize sum of €25,000 as well as a paid internship at the H&M Head Office in Stockholm. As an intern you will be part of the design team that develops our most fashion-forward collections. The paid internship includes a monthly salary, accommodation in Stockholm, as well as other benefits. The internship runs during spring/summer 2020 and will be tailored for the winner, as far as possible, according to their skills and previous experience.

The winner has the option to exchange the internship for a grant of €25,000. The total prize sum will then amount to €50,000.

In addition all finalists, except the winner, will be awarded €5,000 each for making it to the final.


Who can apply to participate in the award?

You must be studying at a school that is participating in the H&M Design Award 2020

you are going to graduate during 2019 from a BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent). You can find a list of all the participating fashion schools here.

Your graduate collection should be based on garments, with at least 4 complete outfits. The collection can focus on womenswear, menswear or mixed collections. The primary focus of the collection should be the garments, not textiles or accessories.

Please note that the H&M Design Award is held in English so it is important that you are able to speak and understand this language.


How do I apply to the H&M Design Award 2020?

The H&M Design Award 2020 is open for 2019 BA and MA graduating students from selected fashion schools. Students are welcome to participate by submitting their portfolios.

A complete application* should contain:

– Digital portfolio (e.g. mood boards, idea sketches and final designs from your graduate collection)

– Entering graduate collection must include a minimum of four outfits and the primary focus of the collection should be the garments, not textiles or accessories.

– CV in English

– Personal cover letter in English

*Please note that we will only reply to complete applications from candidates who have a certified fashion design education from a BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent) awarded by a fashion school participating in the H&M Design Award 2020.


I have already participated in the H&M Design Award, can I apply again?

Yes, you are welcome to apply as many times as you want if you are a 2020 graduate from a BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent) from a participating fashion design school. You can find a list of all the schools participating in the H&M Design Award 2020 here.


I want to make changes to my application; how do I do that?

If you have any changes or additions to your application please submit a new application before the application period closes on July 31, 2019. If there is more than one application from someone we always look at the latest version when making our selection.


I want to withdraw my application; how do I do that?

Just e-mail toHMDesignAward@hm.comand your application will be removed from the website.

What happens after I have submitted my application?

After the application period closes (July 31, 2019) H&M will go through all applications and select the semi-finalists. From the semi-final, the finalists will be chosen to proceed to the final and present their graduate collection at a special event held in end of November/beginning December. The overall winner of the H&M Design Award 2020 will then be selected.


What criteria are used to decide the winner?

The H&M Design Award is based on the BA and MA students’ graduate collections. The jury assesses the designers’ creativity, innovation, craftsmanship, uniqueness and the element of sustainability. We also look at how well-made and well-coordinated the graduate collection is.

Why have you removed the development and selling of the winning collection that used to be part of H&M Design Award?

The H&M Design Award is always evolving and we are very excited for the future. We always aim to surprise, excite and explore new ideas. The internship at H&M is a new take on the H&M Design Award and we hope that the applying students will be as excited as we are about the update and appreciate the new set-up.
